The second full day we hire a car and took off to the towns of Glastonbury and Wells. Notable things at Glastonbury are the ruins of the old Abbey, Glastonbury Tor (an overlook just a short walk) and a central town frozen in a the counter culture of the sixties (not the pretty part).

Walking up Glastonbury Tor.
Reportedly King Arthur and Guinevere were buried here.
A rare empty street
Enjoyed the walk around the Abbey grounds
The Abbey ruins were very peaceful compared to the town center.
Wells Cathedral – a few miles down the road, one of the prettiest we’ve ever seen.
As we toured the choir was practicing
The cathedral gardens
Swans in the moat

My travel advice would be to not miss Wells. Glastonbury didn’t appeal to me but might to others.
