In 1977, just a few years after famous travel host Rick Steves visited Europe for the first time on his own, I went to London for five weeks for college credit. Already awakening to the possibilities ahead in life from lasting friendships, a professional degree, and meeting the love of my life, I didn’t know that trip was the first of many to the United Kingdom and Ireland.
